I recently took a week-long trip to Italy! This is my first of many blog posts to come.
One night, my cousin took me on a walking tour of the city, as she's been studying abroad in Rome for several months. We passed by Largo di Torre Argentina - a square in Rome that contains the remains of four Roman temples and Pompey's Theatre. Julius Ceasar was assassinated at this site, which dates back to 400-300 BC.
Naturally, I couldn't help but notice the influx of cats in this area! Later research led me to find that this area is a sanctuary to 150 homeless cats in Rome. Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary shelters and cares for these cats, thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers.
I had a great time checking out the square, and making a few feline friends while I was at it!
