Men's Basketball | Sac State vs. University of Montana

Sacramento State's men's basketball team faced the University of Montana on Thursday at the Nest. The Montana Grizzlies are currently in second place in the Big Sky Conference.

There wasn't a seat unoccupied at the Nest, which was capped out at a season-high attendance of 1,146. 

The Hornets were down 19 at halftime, and the game ended in a 70-55 loss. 

Sac State will face Montana State at the Nest on Saturday at 7 p.m. in hopes of advancing to the Big Sky Conference tournament.

Women's Basketball | Sac State vs. Idaho State

Sacramento State's women's basketball team clinched a spot in the Big Sky Conference championship in their final home game of the season Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets defeated Idaho State by a score of 56-53.

The Hornets' three seniors - Sadie Clements, Alle Moreno and Se'Nyce Parrish - were honored at the start of the game. With 637 in attendance, the crowd was the second largest the women's team saw on their home court this season, with an abundance of the seniors' friends and family present. 

The Hornets had a strong start, gaining a 17-point lead over the Bengals in the first half. By the start of the second half, the Bengals had taken the lead and the Hornets trailed by 11 points.

With 36 seconds left on the clock and a score of 53-51 in favor of the Bengals, senior forward Clements shot a three-pointer to give the Hornets a 1-point lead.

The Bengals were unable to regain their lead, and the Hornets regained possession and junior guard Takara Burse scored the last points of the game. This closed out the game with a score of 56-53 for a significant Hornet victory and a memorable final home game for the team's seniors.

Men's Basketball | Sac State vs. Northern Colorado

Sacramento State's men's basketball team took on Northern Colorado Bears last night, the second place team in the Big Sky Conference. Attendance was a season-high at the Nest at Sac State at 877, and it was a "White Out" t-shirt giveaway for the first 500 fans to arrive. The high-energy game ended with a score of 79-58, yet another Hornet victory, breaking the Bears' three-game winning streak. This was also the Hornets' seventh consecutive win on their home court.

Women's Basketball | Sac State vs. Portland State

On Saturday, Sacramento State's women's basketball faced Portland State at The Nest. It was a close game all the way through, but the Hornets came out on top with a score of 84-80, solidified by two free throw shots by senior forward No. 15 Sadie Clements in the last few seconds of the game.
