The Roman Forum | Rome, Italy

Amy Lane June 19, 2017

On my fourth day in Rome, I took the metro to the Colosseo exit to visit the Roman Forum! I had the pleasure of watching the sun set through the beautiful remains of ancient Rome.

Assisi | Perugia, Italy

Amy Lane May 29, 2017

It's been awhile, but here is another photo blog from my Italy trip! This may have been my favorite day of the week I spent there.

My cousin and I decided we wanted to visit the gorgeous countryside of Assisi. After sprinting for what had to have been a mile to the platform for our train - just barely making it on time - we were off!

Even though Rome had endless offerings of historic sites and photographic opportunities, I knew I wanted to see a different side of Italy during my time there. We decided on Assisi, and absolutely fell in love with it!

We spent our day taking a stroll through the charming city, ending at the Basilica of San Francesco. The view of the town was absolutely stunning. Our night was complete with a sunset to send us off!

Castel Sant'Angelo | Rome, Italy

Amy Lane April 29, 2017

Castel Sant'Angelo is a gorgeous castle in Rome that was built in the 130s AD. I was intrigued by the castle by its exterior appearance, but had no idea what beauty was inside! I was in awe of the spectacular artwork in the castle - it was breathtaking! I also enjoyed some great panoramic views of the city from the height of the castle. Keep scrolling and enjoy your tour of Castel Sant'Angelo!

Cats of Rome | Largo di Torre Argentina

Amy Lane April 23, 2017

I recently took a week-long trip to Italy! This is my first of many blog posts to come.

One night, my cousin took me on a walking tour of the city, as she's been studying abroad in Rome for several months. We passed by Largo di Torre Argentina - a square in Rome that contains the remains of four Roman temples and Pompey's Theatre. Julius Ceasar was assassinated at this site, which dates back to 400-300 BC.

Naturally, I couldn't help but notice the influx of cats in this area! Later research led me to find that this area is a sanctuary to 150 homeless cats in Rome. Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary shelters and cares for these cats, thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers.

I had a great time checking out the square, and making a few feline friends while I was at it!
