Pre-show with Hunter Hunted | The Observatory, Santa Ana

Amy Lane May 31, 2015

Hunter Hunted just spent a few weeks on tour with Smallpools and Grizfolk on the LOVETAP! tour. They wrapped up with a few Southern California shows, playing The Observatory in Orange County on Thursday.

I got the chance to spend some time with Hunter Hunted before their set. It was fun to catch up with them and document some of their pre-show activities.

They just released their single, "Blindside," from their debut full-length album which is due to be released this summer. They are then embarking on their first ever headlining tour with Young Rising Sons. Be sure to check out the tour dates and keep up with what's to come!

Southern California post-hardcore band Finch joined Yellowcard on their North American tour this spring. In the fall, they released their album Back to Oblivion, which was their first studio album since 2005.

Yellowcard | The Observatory, Santa Ana

Amy Lane May 14, 2015

Yellowcard just wrapped up a month-long tour in promotion of their fall album release, Lift a Sail. They played in Orange County at The Observatory on Saturday, joined by their long-time friends Finch, and Virginia natives The Downtown Fiction.

The band has come a long way since their early days in Jacksonville, Florida. Frontman Ryan Key reminisced about how the band’s first ever sold out show was in Orange County; fifteen years later, they have played countless sold out shows and have seven studio albums.

Their set began with the first three tracks of Lift a Sail, followed by 2006 hit single “Lights and Sounds.” Ryan went acoustic during “One Bedroom,” the first single from Lift a Sail, and guitarist Sean Mackin even put down his violin to fill in on guitar.

After the ballad “California” with Ryan solo on keyboard, the band played a three-song encore: “Fighting,” “Way Away,” and “Ocean Avenue.”
